The Henry Mountains is one of Utah’s most remote and rugged mountain ranges in the state. It’s diversity in topography from red rock deserts to alpine mountains changes quickly with elevation ranging from 3,700 feet at the north shore of Lake Powell to over 11,600 feet at Mt. Ellen.
It’s 2 million public acres, and isolation makes it home to around 300 bison the only free-roaming and huntable herd of American bison in the 48 contiguous United States.
Last week Utah Division of Wildlife Resources released a YouTube video showcasing the thriving Mule deer herds on the Henry’s. Their game cam video came back and surprised them with a cameo appearance of a giant 40″ monster buck!!
